Beautiful Stone Masonry
What is Stone Masonry?
Stone Masonry can encompass many different aspects of masonry. For the average homeowner, stone masonry generally refers to the application of stone veneer to interior or exterior walls.
Other types of stone masonry can be;
- The creation of stone walls or pillars,
- Ashlar masonry – where cut stones are made to build a wall,
- Rubble masonry – where the interior of walls are filled using roughly cut stones and mortar.

Stone Masonry can completely change the look and feel of your home. The picture below shows a home that Canadian Masonry Services resurfased using stone. In this project, our expert masons removed the existing brick. Then our expert masons resurfaced the entire home using a beautiful grey stone, matching the paving stone in front of the home. The change is dramatic, giving the old house a new home feel.

Stone Masonry Pillars, Seat Walls, and Stone Masonry Walls
Stone Pillars add strength and beauty to a driveway entrance, walkway, front porch, pavilion or pergola. Pillar widths, heights and material are chosen to compliment the architecture of the home or property
Seat walls are low walls that will offer additional space for seating, add a sense of enclosure and offer a barrier to create a distinction between different areas and outdoor rooms. Seat walls often surround a fountain, water feature or patio and help create a beautiful focal point.
Masonry walls are constructed on concrete grade beams or footings to ensure they will uphold frost and thaw conditions.
Canadian Masonry Services build all types of outdoor walls or pillars. These walls and pillars can define your home and property, and really extend your indoor living space outside.
Our Stonemasons have a comprehensive and intimate knowledge of each stone type, their application and their artistic value. From the Quarry-men to the Stonemason, Canadian Masonry Services has the resources to create or restore any stone project.
